We are very happy to welcome the Mayan elders to Austria this summer. We warmly invite you to a special weekend in Upper Austria, where we will dive deep into the sacred work and ceremonies of the Mayan – Tradition.

Nana Marina Cruz –
is a healer of the Tz’utujil tribe.
She is a spiritual guide of the ancient traditions.
Tata Pedro’s daughter works not just as a healer and therapist using natural folk methods, but also as a ceremonial leader of: Sweat lodges, tobacco, cacao and fire ceremonies.
As a guardian of the wisdom of this tradition, she actively works to preserve Mayan culture, language and spirituality, and teaches the traditional Mayan languages.

Nana Rosario –
Maya Ajq’iij – spiritual leader and healer

Nana Magdalena –
Bone healer, healer of the energy balance between body and mind.
She does spiritual cleansing.

– Mayan Cosmovision

We will learn about the Mayan Cosmovision, the Sacred Cycles of Time, the Sacred Calendar Cholqij and the symbols that hold the deep wisdom of the tradition. This knowledge is passed on orally from generation to generation and serves to live a life in harmony and balance with oneself and its environment.

-Traditional Mayan Fire Ceremony

This is one of the first and most important Mayan practices. These ceremonies are usually celebrated under the open sky and in special places (places of power, caves). They are also performed in places that require special healing.
The Mayan sacred fire is one of the most powerful medicines of this tradition. You can hand over your illness to the fire, ask for help and support and transform everything that you no longer need and that blocks you. Being close to this sacred fire can transform us and direct our thoughts towards peace, bliss, respect and understanding.
This ceremony unites peoples and languages and reminds us of the existence of the forces of nature, which are invoked together with the 20 Naguales. It is recommended to bring your power items with you to the ceremony. According to tradition, these objects are purified and charged with harmonious energy during the ceremony. You can also write your personal wishes, intentions and prayers on a piece of paper, which can then also be sacrificed to the fire in the ceremony.
All instruments are welcome. Traditional songs as well as other beautiful music are shared during the ceremony.

-Traditional cacao ceremony

The cacao ceremony brings us together. We open our hearts to celebrate this ancient Mayan ritual. During the ceremony the 20 archetypes (Naguales) are called. The „drink of the gods“ brings us health, spiritual strength and introspection. Cacao has always been sacred to the Mayans. He has the ability to take us to our own underworld (Xibalba) to discover our hidden feelings and allows us to explore the inner world.
This ceremony helps us to heal all of our relationships by asking for blessings on both our lives and those of others.

-Tobacco Reading & Ceremony

Tobacco has always been considered a sacred plant in indigenous traditions.
It serves primarily as a means of communication with Ajaaw (The Source) and as medicine.
We will experience how the Mayans work with the „puros“ (cigars), send their prayers and read from them and also have the chance to practice this prayer.

In these 2 days there will also be lectures on various topics such as the calendar and tradition, as well as the opportunity to ask questions.

There will be healthy vegan meals and overnight accommodation for the weekend.

It will be translated into English and German.

360,- € sleeping in the ceremonial room** or tent
